From the 1st February 2016 landlords or their agents need to conduct checks on new tenancies on whether a person has the right to rent. If there is any issue with the documents provided then you can ask the Landlords Checking Service (LCS) to undertake a right to rent check via the on-line request for a Home office right to rent check tool.
You can be fined up to £3,000 for renting your property to someone who isn’t allowed to rent property in England.
