Both adult peregrines have been seen on the roof recently. They remain resident in the area throughout the year but are sometimes not seen for days. It is normal for them to return to Sussex Heights periodically during the autumn and winter months. By February they become increasing resident as they need to defend the nest site from intruders and settle down to breed.
Essential works to the building have been extremely carefully scheduled to cause minimal disruption to the Peregrines and as such were programmed outside the breeding season after the young had flown. There was close discussion with The Sussex Ornithological Society who are very appreciative of the care taken by the Directors to minimise disturbance to the Peregrines.
