Both adult Peregrines are in residence and often seen in the sky over Sussex Heights. This year's youngsters are still making regular appearances on the roof, though less frequent than a month ago.
The young, which have now been flying for about 11 weeks, should be able to hunt & fend for themselves. Whenever they do return, you may notice the parents encouraging them to leave. As they become totally independant, the young will disperse, probably within south-east England, though occasionally they may go further afield.
We hope to follow them in the future since each youngster was fitted with an individually numbered colour-ring. Any sightings of colour-ringed Peregrines are always gratefully received.
