Delayed Recycling and Rubbish Collection

On one day this week we were informed that 24 of the Council rubbish collection team had not turned up for work, presumably, self-isolating. The knock on effect is that our bins are filling up but the council collections are no longer regular.
We will have to deal with this issue before it gets out of hand but in the meantime could we please ask residents to assist by:

• Flattening ALL plastic bottles and ALL cardboard boxes as much as is possible.
• Making all rubbish as compact as possible due to lack of space.
• Taking your own rubbish to the bins on Western Road.
• Holding back on delivering clean dry items to the waste bins.
• Tempting as it may be with extra time at home, please resist the opportunity to spring clean and clear out all your cupboards just now.
